Hi, I’m Bryony.

 

I offer piano and theory lessons in Frome for all ages and abilities – from young children to adults returning to the piano, from complete beginners to advanced players working beyond Grade 8.

 

Every musical journey is unique. My teaching is shaped around you – your goals, your tastes and the way you naturally learn. Together, we’ll explore the music you love while I introduce you to new ideas that will challenge and inspire you. My lessons are calm and friendly, with a balance of fun and focus. I aim to build both confidence and skill, so you or your child can progress at a pace that feels right while enjoying the process.

 

I’ve been teaching for over 20 years and playing from more than 30. I trained with wonderful teachers, including Yonty Soloman and Penelope Roskell (author of The Complete Pianist), while studying for my Performance Degree in Music at Trinity College of Music, London (now Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance). I also qualified as a Primary School Teacher, gaining years of experience working with children aged 5 – 11 and later teaching music in primary schools – something that deeply informs my approach to teaching today.

If you’d like to take graded exams, I can guide you through either the ABRSM or Trinity exam boards. My students have a 100% pass rate, with 85% achieving Merit or higher.

 

Although I’m classically trained, I love teaching a wide range of styles, including jazz and pop. From the very first lesson, I focus on developing excellent technique so you can play with ease and expression, whatever style of music you choose.
